Call for Entry: 2008 MILE HIGH NATIONAL EXHIBITION
Announcing exhibition dates for the 4th Annual Mile High National Exhibition sponsored by the Pastel Society of Colorado.

The show opens August 16, 2008 and runs through October 24, 2008, at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, 210 N. Santa Fe Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado 81003. The deadline for entries is June 20, 2008.

Northern California landscape painter Duane Wakeham will act as juror of selection and judge for awards. He is a PSA Master Pastelist, Distinguished Pastelist of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and was named to the PSA Hall of Fame in 2000.

Duane will also teach a three day Plein Air workshop, August 12-14, 2008. A two day Master Class is scheduled for August 15-16, 2008. Master Class admission by application. Registration and application forms may be downloaded as PDFs:

Pastel Society of Colorado - SPRING 2008 MEMBERS' SHOW

A huge thanks goes out to all the PSC Members who worked so hard on putting together the beautiful 2008 PASTEL SOCIETY OF COLORADO SPRING MEMBERS SHOW held in Fort Collins, Colorado at Art on Mountain Gallery. Clive Tyler, Juror for the show, gave out the awards and spoke to us about the qualities of each piece. He commented that the work was of such high quality that he would have given out at least ten more awards if he could. AWARD WINNERS FOR THE 2008 PASTEL SOCIETY OF COLORADO MEBERS SHOW were:

General Meetings

The Front Range group meets the second Saturday of every month at 1:00 in the Art Students League in Denver (200 Grant).

The Western Slope group meets the third Saturday of every month at the Coffee Studio (2913 Patterson).

Both share friendships, information on pastel supplies, demos, and methods to promote sales. The membership has grown from a small handful of artists to over 200 members.

Paintouts:

July 17-20 Durango. Contact Mike Ray or Susan McKelvy to RSVP. The East slope pastelists are trying to buddy up on hotels and cars to cut costs. Mike promises to buy every participant a beer! What a beautiful part of Colorado to see and paint. Our thanks to the area members there for setting it up.

August - no paintout; Duane Wakeham workshop in Pueblo
