Lorenzo Chavez finds inspiration in the intoxicating, wide, open spaces of the American West. Raised in New Mexico, Lorenzo now resides in Colorado.
Lorenzo was honored with a one-man show at the C. M. Russell Museum. He participates in many presticious exhibitions including the Pastel Society of America, Artists of America, Coors Western Art Show, Northwest Rendezvous, Albuquerque Art Museum, Bradford Brinton Museum, Panhandle-Plains Museum. Recently, Lorenzo was a guest artist with the Plein Air Painters of America and the “American Art in Miniature-Gilcrease Museum.”
Featured articles have appeared in Southwest Art, Artists of the West, The Artist's Magazine, and the Pastel Journal. Three new books feature his art: Colorado Landscapes, Pure Color; The Best of Pastel and Plein Air New Mexico. Lorenzo is represented by six galleries and many private and corporate collections both nationallly and internationally.
Lorenzo did a demonstration at the February 2009 Colorado Pastel Society's Front Range meeting.
