Marla Baggetta is a nationally acclaimed artist, a gifted instructor, and a pioneer in the realm of online art education. With a career spanning over three decades, Marla’s artistry has flourished in pastel, oil, and notably, abstract acrylic.
Born with a passion for art, Marla honed her skills at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Following her graduation, she embarked on a successful 20-year journey as a commercial illustrator. Her list of esteemed clients included household names like Walt Disney, Nissan Motors, and Houghton Mifflin Publishing.
In 1993, Marla relocated to Oregon, where the breathtaking beauty of the Willamette Valley inspired her to transition towards landscape painting. Her unique style, a blend of realism and abstraction, conveyed a sense of calm and balance that resonated with audiences across the world. Her paintings, a testament to her talent and dedication, have found homes in numerous public and private collections nationwide.
Marla’s contribution to the art world extends beyond her paintings and workshops. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) and an International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) Master Circle Recipient and a member of the American Impressionist Society. Her paintings have been featured in several books and publications and exhibited throughout the United States. She has been featured in the Pastel Journal, Plein Air Magazine and is the author of “Step by Step Pastel” by Walter Foster Publishing. Her achievements include numerous awards and honors. She has judged prestigious international exhibitions throughout the pastel communities.
