Pamm Iannazzo
I was born in Wisconsin and raised in northern Minnesota. I ended up with a degree in art because I could draw and I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I grew up.
After school I set my own art aside and worked in the picture framing industry, eventually owning my own stores with my husband. My interest in my own art was rekindled when I was framing a little pastel landscape done by a local artist and I was captivated by the intense colors and beautiful textures. I took a workshop with Chuck Ceraso at Ghost Ranch and was hooked.
In school I had been under the assumption that to be taken seriously one’s art had to be cerebral. That you had to have these elevated concepts that were masked within a painting’s motif. I didn’t know that art could be fun and I certainly didn’t realize that your fellow artists could be so supportive.
I took classes from Chuck for several years until I was diagnosed with cancer. A few years ago, after I had finished my cancer treatments, I worried about all the things I would never be able to do again or would have to struggle to do.
I eventually realized that I have it pretty good.
I have a husband who is extremely caring and was supportive through cancer, prolonged treatments, bills, bills, bills, worry, worry, worry and, of course, he still is.
I live in a beautiful location in the foothills of the Rockies where I can garden and hike with my dogs.
And I can paint. And when someone takes a shine to one of my paintings … what can be better. Who can complain?
