Linda Bice
Linda truly believes that life is beautiful and sacred and she celebrates that in her artwork through her use of color, light and form. When she was young, she would mix her crayon colors to make her favorite combinations that weren’t in the box. “My favorite color was sky blue pink! It had a bit of blue, pink and just a touch of yellow.”
Linda has attended workshops with several nationally known pastel and oil painters and is a mostly self-taught artist who can often be seen painting around Boulder County with fellow artists. She paints mostly in soft pastel, and also enjoys oil and acrylic as well as mixed media. She also teaches classes in pastel and acrylic.
Plein Air painting allows her the kind of freedom she felt as a child growing up on a chicken farm in New England where the family of 6 children had acres of fields and forests to roam. That farm is where she learned to appreciate the amazing beauty that surrounds us. She enjoys creating daily and hopes that the viewer of her work will feel the emotion and see the sacred beauty of life within each piece. There are stories and lessons of life hidden in her works. You need only contemplate to find your own message.
