MAKE YOUR MARK!

Our monthly demo will center on an exercise that Alain Picard introduced in a recent landscape week he conducted. The exercise focused on completing a landscape painting in 100 strokes with a limited palette of pastels…using three light pastels, three medium pastels, three dark pastels and a bonus pastel. Yes, only 10 pastels!

All materials will be provided at the PSC meeting. Come, join the fun, painting a landscape with your fellow pastelists and enjoying the company of other artists!

Claudia’s lifelong interest in art took a new direction when she led the Art Center of Western Colorado (2004-2006). Art had always been a part of her life, but her family, schooling and professional career took priority. Shortly before Claudia retired in 2014, she took her first art lesson with local artist, Peg Oswald, in pastels, later focusing on landscapes, animals and a few abstracts. She also likes to work in oil/cold wax, painting abstracts, and charcoal drawing.

For 22 years, home has been Grand Junction with her husband, Bill Grant, and Mac, their canine buddy. She has lived throughout the US and accompanied her husband when he taught at the University of Munster (West Germany). Claudia still enjoys her study and interest in art.
