Marilyn Morningstar

Marilyn graduated from The University of Houston with a degree in Home Economics/Interior Design. She has always been interested in art but didn't begin painting until she retired from CSU. She took several classes in pastel from Don Vogl at the Fort Collins Senior Center and fell in love with the medium. She has since taken workshops with Susan Ogilvie, Mike Beeman, Ken Elliot, Jean Hirons, Patti Andre and Diane Edwards. Another love is mixed media--with pastel and beads and also with fabric, wood, copper and beads on stretched canvas. She also enjoys photography. She has won ribbons from the Fort Collins Senior Center annual art exhibit as well as the Loveland Photographic Society and the Artists Association of Northern Colorado. In 2019 her work was accepted into nine juried shows. Her subjects are usually Colorado landscapes, flowers and birds, and interesting people/places from her various travels.
