“The Power of Black Paper”

With Lisa Regopoulos

PSC ZOOM Paint-along, SATURDAY, MARCH 15, 2025, 9 a.m.-Noon, MT

11am ET | 10am CT | 9am MT | 8am PT

Learn to quickly create sparkle and warmth in a winter scene starting on dark (almost black) paper. The focus will be on building luminosity on a snow-covered scene with techniques to create form and depth using varying shadows effects and attention to tonal values. We’ll discuss the use of a limited palette and incorporating neutral colors to add traces of warmth to complement cool grays, blues and purples.

When Realism meets Impressionism in pastel, that’s where the excitement begins for Massachusetts artist Lisa Regopoulos. That’s how she likes to paint.

Working in pastel and teaching her students this versatile medium are two of her greatest passions. She has worked in the medium for twenty years and has seen incredible growth after becoming a full-time artist. Her commitment to teaching began nearly a decade ago, conducting small private classes in her home, to weekly classes at the Wild Salamander Creative Arts Center, Hollis, NH, to workshops and demonstrations all over the New England Region. She currently maintains a new studio in Fitchburg, MA. In addition to awards too numerous to list, Lisa’s work was featured in an eight-page article in The Pastel Journal Magazine‘s 2023 Summer Issue.

Registration for the paint-along is $20 for members and non-members.

Deadline to register is Wednesday, March 12th at 9 pm but sign up ASAP so you can make sure you have the necessary supplies to enjoy this March 15th Zoom paint-along with Lisa.
